The primary purpose of PAPERS is to provide an educational forum that seeks to lead to improved performance and management of the public employee retirement systems in the state. The Association functions as a central resource for educational purposes and acts as a networking agent for all public plan staff and board members in Pennsylvania. PAPERS provides the State’s public retirement systems with educational conferences, seminars, newsletters, operational handbooks, referral systems and an internet-based website for items of interest, membership information and updates.

FPPTA Trustee Schools are offered twice a year and include a Fall Trustee School and a Winter Trustee School. Trustee Schools run two and one-half days and offer the Certified Public Pension Trustee (CPPT) program sessions, as well as additional continuing education sessions. In 1982 The Resource Center for Religious Institutes (RCRI) combined the services staff from two contributing organizations: The Legal Resource Center for Religious (LRCR) and the National Association of Treasurers Religious Institutes (NATRI), to address dynamic issues that finance managers in the religious institutes encountered. RCRI aims to serve their members with “one-stop shopping” regarding financial and legal issues to assist their constituent religious organizations.
